Trust but verify.

Someone very wise once told me "Trust but verify".
For a while now, that's exactly what I've been doing. You just can't go trusting everyone. Nowadays, people are not to be trusted. They will betray you without a blink of an eye.

Trust is something one have to gain. You have to gain trust from a person. Sometimes, people fake it, and that's why you have to verify.

Just because someone else said it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's true. You have to investigate for yourself and get the exact information.
In the business world, you cannot entrust your employees with some sensitive information. They can betray you any minute.

That's very simple. A competitor will only double the amount of money he or she has been earning in your company.
A competitor will do anything just to get that piece of information that will help them destroy you.

After the employee, gives out your secret, then everything's done for you. You're likely to :
**Loose your customers to your competitors.

In some cases, it leads to the closure of the business. This is the worst because the business man will lose all his investments.

In the journalism world, that's why there are investigative reporters.
Their work is to ensure that everything is brought to light. Everything concerning the society, which may be good or bad, must be brought to the publics.
The public must know what is going on around them.
And that's why they have multiple sources. They cannot trust a single person, so they interview many people so as to verify what they've been told.

In other life matters, when someone tells you something, don't trust too easily. Otherwise, your trust will be broken and you'll feel betrayed for no reason. It's only you didn't verify.
I'm not suggesting that you should go around asking information about people, but just keep informed.

You can always talk to people in the workplace. They sure have a lot to share with you. In the workplace, there lies all the grapevine. That is when they are taking their tea break and perhaps the lunch break.

Just trust and verify and you'll never be disappointed. Those who trust easily only have their trust easily shuttered. Not everyone can be able to keep their words of loyalty.

Everytime you intend to trust anyone, you have to verify first.
