Sometimes we lie to to save ourselves and prevent condemnation and critism.
I once lied about something that made me guilty for quite sometime. Not that I could be punished or anything but I just feared the consequences.
I can lie at that particular time but I'll eventually tell the truth.
Up to now, I've never said anything about it but I'm planning on it very soon.
It was way back at home when I was chasing a little chicken in our compound. The little chicken had strayed outside and I wanted inside it's little house. I had a stick in hand and I was trying very hard for it to get inside.
But the chicken had other plans. I ran round in circles but I couldn't catch it.
As time went by, I was getting tired. As I was about to grab it, it ran again.
I happened to stab it with the stick. The chicken fell and begun doing something with it's wings. It began flapping it's wings.
I didn't know what was wrong with it. After sometime, the chicken died and I threw it in a pit latrine.
My parents arrived and they began asking where the chicken was. Since we were enemies with our neighbors, I put the blame on them.
You can only imagine what my mom said. She begun cursing and blaming them for the death of that chicken.
I never meant for it to die.
Right now I think that's such a little thing to have lied but I was just afraid!

ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂😂...that was very funny.. I think you should tell your parents, maybe they are over that and they'll just forgive you. You were young and you never intended for it to die
