My First Experience in High school

When I finished primary school, I was eager to get to a high school because I heard stories of how interesting it could be.
I got a letter inviting me to a Certain school and I joined it in February.

According to the school rules, every form one student would have a 'mother'. All the students were all taken and I was left all alone.
A concerned teacher, who turned out to be our kiswahili teacher, asked me why nobody had taken me yet.
Obviously I didn't know what was wrong so I just told him I didn't know.

Finally, a form two girl called Esther Kanana, came. The teacher said "She will be your mother."
We went to the dormitory and my school mother, was so kind.
Later during dinner, another mother took my cup of tea. Why?
I'd forgotten to bring a cup with me from home, so Kanana just took a cup and gave it to me. It turned out to be another girls by the name Monica.

Kanana had told me to wait for her after the night's preps. As I saw everybody leaving, I decided to leave too. How could I be left all alone?

I walked around not remembering my dorm. I had forgotten where it was. It was practically dark outside. I walked around and around and learnt that I couldn't remember at all.
Luckily, a girl asked me who I was looking for.
"Kanana", I said a bit shaken. I was even lucky that I could remember my school mother's name.

The girl called out Kanana's name. My school mother came and led me to our dormitory.
